Palm Jebel Ali to have 8 fronds ready by next year; Dh810 million awarded for marine work

The Palm Jebel Ali project developer disclosed on Monday that the first eight fronds should be site-ready by the first quarter of 2025. When completed, this will enable the start of the civil works and villa infrastructure.

This came as Nakheel said it awarded a Dh810-million contract for marine works on Palm Jebel Ali. The company will assist in constructing villas throughout all fronds by handling dredging, land reclamation, beach profiling, and sand placement.

“With mobilization activities already underway, Jan De Nul Dredging is expected to complete the entire scope of marine works at Palm Jebel Ali in just over two years,” Nakheel said.

Additionally, construction has started on a new public access road that will link the project to Sheikh Zayed Road.

Over 700 units of Palm Jebel Ali’s Phase 1 frond villas were introduced in the previous year. The villas were gone in a matter of hours after being listed for sale. Long lines of real estate brokers and investors attended the sale.

Developments in marine and infrastructure projects directly contribute to the delivery of these residences, which are slated for delivery in late 2026.

When finished, the island will be 13.4 km long with 16 fronds and 91 km of shoreline. The artificial archipelago shaped like a palm, twice the size of Palm Jumeirah, is anticipated to accommodate about 35,000 families.
